IQ tells you what your score is on a particular test, compared to other people's scores. The aim of IQ is not to measure how much you know, but your ability to think.

The "median" score is 100. So half the population has an IQ of higher than 100 and the other half has an IQ of lower than 100. A curve plots scores so that about two-thirds of us have an IQ of between 85 and 115. And about 95 percent of us have an IQ of between 70 and 130.

IQ breakdowns are often listed something like this:
Genius - 140 and above
Gifted - 130 - 139
Above average - 115 - 129
Higher average - 100 - 114
Lower average - 85 - 99
Below average - 70 - 84
Borderline low - 55 - 69
Low - 55 and below

Personally, I would "rate" on IQ of 101 as a 4 or 5. 101 is average in terms of smarts. At the same time - the only thing an IQ test really determines is how well you take tests.

That's not an appropriate way to interpret the scores for intelligence. I did my dissertation on intelligence testing and I believe my findings could help you with your methodology.

The short version of the meta analysis I did on IQ research is that I found that IQ basically only does two things. The first is that it is good at broadly separating people into one of three groups.....smart, average and dumb (note that it really doesn't say much about retardation, but that's another issue). The second thing it does is detect diffuse brain injury pretty well. If your IQ score goes down after you get hit in the head, that is a reliable sign of diffuse brain injury. Interesting but irrelevant.

What is relevant though is the separation of people into smart, dumb and average. Basically, anyone within 1 standard deviation, is average. That's roughly 68% of all people. Everyone above is smart. Everyone below is dumb.

So. Grab a bunch of people and make 3 groups, then have people rate their looks to see if there is a correlation. If I were to make a hypothesis, it would be that inferior genetics are ostracized from mating groups. In other words, being dumb and being ugly tend to go together while everyone else is pretty randomly distributed.

An IQ of 100 is average by definition. So 101 would be very close to average, close enough to call it average. So for 0-10 it would be a five. For 1-10 it would be a 5.5. Or 5.05 and 5.555 to be exact.

How about maybe putting it in a little better prospective - if I had the choice of being stuck on an island with someone with an iq of 101 or 140 - i would choose 101 - i think they would be easier to manipulate into doing all the hardwork of gathering wood for the fire and raft.

Though u need around 70 to be able to breathe.
Think of it as A+, A, B, C, D, F for each category.

Problem with IQ tests is they are culturally and gender biased and they only test "intelligence" not wisdom.

Problem with looks is that its a matter of personal preference and also culturally biased.

SO..... it seems you are going to have a problem coming up with anything of real use.
