Some of the comments made by people here make me laugh because they believe some of the tricks carried out by Blaine and Criss angel are real. If you believe they are real please say why.

I don't believe they were real, although I do believe that David Blane has amazing control over his body, and is extremely self-aware.
If David Blane or Criss Angel were alive two thousand years ago, there would no doubt be a religion based around them.

It's always really fun to imagine that illusionist and magicians have real powers. But usually I really want to find out how they do it. But I've watched some of Criss Angel's videos, and apparently he's used a fake audience (who only pretended to be surprised and amazed) and video editing. It's always cool to imagine it's real, though. =0)

Hello I use to be a member of the IBM or International Brotherhood of Magicians, which is the national orginization of working magicians. In the world of magicians both of these guys are seen as hacks, there only magic is the magic of TV. In Blane's first ever tv speacial he did tricks that every common close-up magician knows only he had a film crew with him.

Blaine doesn't even do tricks - it's mostly just stunts, not even pretend magic. Angel will tell you himself that it's all a trick - just watch closely, maybe you'll figure it out. I know how to levitate like Blaine does - but you'd be so disapointed to find out.

I believe they have real power... to make people think that what they are doing is somehow special and exceptional even though it isn't, and the power to get gullible people to believe that it is, and the power to get TV news media to cover it, and the power to get paid for this BS. Other than that, not on your life.

Uhmmm......If I showed how they do the tricks(which I do know) those people would realize they had no special powers however very good skills of illusion.

I think it is all a trick, no such thing as magic, only God can do stuff like that. My husband does magic....it's all an act, busy hands!!!

Why do you think they call them illusions. It's very similar to what the government does with you tax dollars and Social Security. They claim it is there but no one can prove it.
