My mom craved mac and cheese and olives really bad... I personally didn't really have any cravings at all... it was just what sounded good to eat at the time, so I didn't have any bizarre cravings. But I do know- which could be the case for you- is your baby will take those nutrients out of you, so you need to replenish them- and by that, you get a craving for some nutrient you need. That's probably why you need the milk-you are deficient in it now that you are pregnant- your baby is absorbing it up :)
Goodluck and congrats :)

I'm not sure, but it's possible. It's said that pregnancy cravings are your body's way of obtaining a deficient nutrient, if you don't normally drink milk then you could need calcium. Good luck with testing!

The quick answer is we don't really know exactly what can be passed on by hereditary genetics. So far medicine has been focused mainly on the bad things that can transfer so little research has been done on things like cravings or taste.
It may just be chance but equally you may well have a point. When we eventually unravel all the mystery of human genetics you may get your answer but don't hold your breath as it will be many years yet I suspect.

Craving are universal. I don't think they have ever done a study on hereditary cravings. But with each of my pregnancies, I craved completely different hings.
My first caviar and V-8 and rhubarb pie, 2nd sweet potaotes and basically became a vegitarean, and 3rd bean burritos, and chineese.
I did notice my taste buds changing before we found out we were pregnant.
Good luck

Yeah, I'm 5 months and drink TONS of milk. It's the body's way of getting more calcium for the baby. With my first, I craved twinkies, and devil dogs. With my second, Snapple. With this one, apples and chocolate cupcakes. Also, with the other pregnancies, I also craved milk, just like this one.

It could be that your body is craving something in the milk that you are not getting elase where you can take a test and see that is possiable and all but good luck but whenever your body really n eeds something it craves whatever you need like eggs and fish for protein and all .

Ive never heard of p-reggo cravings being hereditary.. probably just a coincidence.. Anyways though- cravings are usually your bodys way of telling you that it needs something in that food. Ie- if you're craving milk- you may need more calcium...
good luck =)
I hate chocolate and all through this pregnancy ive craved anything chocolate and starbursts! hehe

its likely that if you are pregnant your body is telling you that it needs more calcium and that is why you want it. the same thing happened to me and normally i cant stand milk. other then that Ive never heard of cravings being genetic

It's pretty early to be getting cravings. From what I understand, they tend to happen later in pregnancy.
