I have interviewed several people and if the applicants have similar qualifications for the job or even if one person has less experience the person with the best personality and the willingness to learn and get the job done wins. This is usually decided in the 1st 5 minutes. Its called the first impression. You know what they say about those. So although you need to have some experience or interest in what you are applying for often times what gets you in the door is that sparkle in your eye that tells the interviewer, "this person has some get up and go about them." You either have that or you dont. I will add if we are talking about a highly specialized area such as engineer, CPA, etc then of course you will have to have the qualifications. You cant just get in because you have a nice smile. I hope you get my point. Good luck to you if you are looking for a job. Just smile and be yourself.

I would say is not one thing but at least two:
computer updated skills
Bilingual (Spanish, Chinesse, or maybe Japanese)
more?
Good positive personality and a "I can do" attitude
Good grooming neat and professional (it does not matter if the job is minor or on a huge scale, always look your best!)
Good grammar and language skills
that should be enough to get you started.. Good luck!
