I'm going to my friends party, and it's a dance. I can't dance at all, and it's today! Any tips on how I can stop myself from making a complete idiot of me?

Put some music on right now, go find a full length mirror and to move to the beat of the musicI Feel the beat.
I doubt that the majority are as good as you think they are. Wait until everyone has had a few drinks in them then no one will care what anyone looks like on the dance floor. Watch others and mimic them.
Find someone who dances badly and dance with them, they will make you look good.

At one time the thought was anything goes as long as the music plays. Now as a result of dancing with the Stars TV program the dance teachers are promoting the idea that there is a right way to dance and that everyone has a space.of their own. So I don't take lessons for that reason as I still like to get a women next to me and dance as one.
