if you do not like like your job, try to find another one before you quit the one you have. If you like the job, explain to your parents why you want to cut back on your hours. If will be alot better than just quitting.

find a better paying job and tell your parents you are switching.
find another way to pay your parents rent?
move out and then they have no control.
ask your parents why they feel that way then really listen
