Find out who his favorite basketball or football player/team is and get him something along the lines of that...a t-shirt or jersey or something.
You could also find out what music he likes and get him CDs.
Or a nice watch.
It NEVER hurts to ask his sisters!! I'm sure they would be more than willing to help.

If he says 'Nothing', then you'll probably want something small. I find personal gifts are the best for these situations. Maybe a small statue of something. It's very personal and it's a nice gesture. An old girlfriend gave me a tiny 'Bird of happiness' over 12 years ago; I still have it.
