seems to shut down when it feels like it.so i got mad and replaced the mobo,still does it.sometimes it wont fire up,i have to pull the power plug for a min then it fires up..also i put in another fan,still does it.my temps are processor zone 85 zone 2 is 80.this is at idle.I disconnected my other hard drive and cdrom.STILL it shuts down when it wants to.SO NOW WHAT?????

is there a way i can test the power supply?
the PS is about 4 years old with heavy use durring that time.the PS is a 300watt..could it be the wireing in my house.we just moved and it never did this before..the thing is that the pc is on the same power strip as my fish tank and monitor and they dont shut down..

Sounds like a power supply prob! If you have added hardware to your PC, the power supply may not be producing the wattage your system now needs. Try a bigger power supply. 450 watts or better.

try making sure your power cord is plugged in securely. Also try bending the prongs on the cord that plugs into the wall socket, Sometimes just by bending the cord prongs, it will give a better connection to your power source.
Your problem is a power sorce one. most likely your connection to your wall socket

Some drive problems can be easily fixed by yourself using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required
