Doesn't anyone find it disrespectful to protest at FUNERALS? Sure you have a right to free speech, but there is a limit.

Walk into the airport and yell BOMB and see what happens to you.

There should be laws to get these people in jail in a heartbeat. Specifically speaking, its Westborough Baptist Church who protests these funerals and laughs saying "they're going to hell!". Well its sickening, and they should be labeled as felons for doing it. Anyone who cries "free speech" has a very bad understanding of the Bill of Rights, in which there is nothing that says you can say WHATEVER you want WHENEVER you want. Oh no. Quite the contrary, freedom of speech has been limited by the courts time and time again, but the liberals would not have you believe this. Yelling fire in a movie theater, shouting bomb in an airport, heckling the president, all these things are not protected under free speech. And those who protest funerals should have no protection either. The liberal ACLU has taken up their cause. Let's pray they lose.

Of course we should respect the families of fallen Soldiers,Sailors and Marines. But you're talking about a few deranged crackpots who don't have anything else better to do with their lives. It's very disrepectful to the families of the fallen and I hate to say it, but a little vigilante *** whipping redneck justice would be just the thing to to teach these creeps and sickos some respect and manners.

The only other thing I can think of that these imbeciles would understand would be for someone to track these people and keep tabs on when one of their family members succumbs to the natural fate of death so that a few hundred people can amass at the grave sites of their loved ones and give them a taste of their own "medicine."

People are just plain crazy and it's bafflling to me how they manage to get such a group of followers to disrupt the funerals of our fallen heroes who give their lives so that these creeps can have it so cushy. I don't get it.

Just because you have a right to say something doesn't mean it is always right to say it. They have very poor judgment, they do it for attention. They also wanted to protest at the little Amish girls funerals.

I agree protest at funerals is tacky and useless and shows a huge amount of disrespect for fallen soldiers. People who do this should be ashamed. It accomplishes nothing.

Our country has fallen behind when touting freedom rules and in the same breath the will of the majority is ignored. Yes respect "all" who have fallen, citizen or soldier without one you have neither.

Protesting at a funeral is the height of disrespectfulness and bad manners. Shame on these people that do it!

Your bomb analogy is idiotic. Yelling "bomb" can cause panic and injury to others. ( Also, if there is a bomb, guess one is being a hero, right?)

Protesting at a funeral my be in extremely bad taste. But it's not the same thing. And it should never be limited.

I'm constantly surprised at how often people let their emotions cloud rational understanding of basic freedom of speech issues. You are a prime example.

Or walk into a movie theater and yell FIRE.

Freedom of speech does not mean that you can disrespect everyone in the world. America Haters like that can go somewhere else.

Fred Phelps is a jerk. I know, I am from Kansas. He is a freak seeking media attention. Maybe if he was doing it for the right reasons, I might understand (disagree but understand), but this guy is all about himself...LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!!! I say, let these people bury their children in peace. The right avenue might be to have a private ceremony and don't release the times or dates of the funerals.

People that would do that need to have their @sses kicked. They have the right to free speech, I have the right to be offended. If that were one of my family member they were` protesting, they to would be going to a funeral, their own!
