yes, early in the day, and in the evening. Fish don't bite in the heat of the day. Right at sunrise and just before dark is best for fishing.

Early morning and late afternoon. Most fish will feed at daylight and then they lay around until they get hungry again. Catfish may feed more very late at night. Normally, when I really want to catch fish, I will be at my fishing hole just before the sun come up and will have my limit by 9 a.m. Usually I just float around and enjoy the peace and quite until it get hot then go home.
