This is very last minute, but I have a Christmas party this evening (Dec. 16) at my boyfriend's work. I've not met any of his coworkers yet, and from what I hear, I'll be the center of attention for the first part of the evening. I want to look my best but with the acne that I have, plus large pores and oily skin my makeup tends to look awefull within an hour or so. If anyone has any tips or ideas on how to make the make up look presentable it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Begin with exfoliating and then moisturise with an oil free moisturiser. Wait until it has soaked in before applying an oil free dewy foundation designed to stay. Then use a concealer to touch up any acne marks/scars. Let set, then dust a loose powder over the face (try Loreal in Translucide). This will keep the makeup in place for longer. Try not to use pink or red toned blushes/eye makeup as these can emphasise the acne. Try a light bronzer sweeped across cheeks and line eyes with a gold shimmery shadow. Have fun!

I don't know of ANY foundation that completely covers large pores and I have tried MANY! The best ones I have found for covering acne scarring and spots are: Estee Lauder Double Wear (about $32 but its AWESOME) Revlon Colorstay (about $11 works pretty good) I have the same skin problems at you but I use the Estee Lauder foundation and people actually tell me that I have pretty skin! I really have an awfully rebellious complexion but the Estee Lauder comes in such natural colors and covers so well not many people notice my problematic skin. After cleansing face and before your makeup use an ice cube to close pores tightly. For foundation application spread an even amount all over face and blend it with a wet makeup sponge applicator. This method works like a champ for me!

well if you put cold water on your face and i mean the coldest water that you can get, then right after, and i mean RIGHT after put the hottest water that you can possible take. it should make your face light up and get that grease and pore problem gone. for the acne i suggest to put a little powder on it and no foundation. even if you still show some acne you should look fine. nut if not make a distration to somewhere else. like your eyes of hair or even cloths then that will be the thing they look at not your skin problems.

On certain nights where I need to stay oil free as long as possible, I wish with Neutrogena's oil control foaming cleanser. It dries up the skin and makes it tight, so i also put just a dab of moisturizer.

Then I put my make-up on as usual. If you use a use a liquid foundations, pat it on, dont smear. Make sure you use a wet make-up sponge too.

Cover with a sheer powder or a pressed powder foundation and bring it with you! Make sure you use a brush, and not the pad they give you.

Then bring it with you. When you start to feel oily, re touch your powder on your T-Zone.

You can also bring with you oil absorbing sheets to touch up too.

Good luck and have fun!!

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
