you might choose fabric, in colors that you know they use, perhaps cotten,,, or wool if in cold climate,,, i would stay with natural fabrics,,,, along with thread,,, simple buttons etc,,, or anything else, materials, that you think of that they could use in their crafts or daily life,,,,,, also, just because they are good bakers doesnt mean that they would not enjoy something you made,,,, so bake your best dish/bread/cookies etc,, and yes, for most christmas parties , take a dish as most of them are pot-luck

citrus and staple items. 20 lb bags of sugar from Sams is always welcomed. Flour and such. I caught Simon admiring socks- black wool work socks. Like I said- candy and citrus for the kids. Dolls should be left up to the family. Their dolls have no faces. I won't get into that- it's long scary tale. Headlamps are good and if your friends don't use covered buggies- they love black umbrellas. They use them as wind blocks. Hand tools are always loved too. Simon loves Harbor Freight. Broadcloth and heavy denim for materials. Stay with black and blue and some white for making their prayer caps. Simon and Mary have 12 kids living at home and many of them are married so there's 16 grand kids. I am sticking with affordable and easily shared. 20 lbs sugar, flour, powdered sugar, oranges and hard candy for the family. I did grab some socks for Simon and I will get Mary a new LARGE umbrella. I will also probably sneak in something for 4 month old grandbaby Rachel too. She almost died recently but is fine now. I am just glad to be there when they needed me. Remember- Amish are family oriented and you will do fine.

First find out if they would accept a gift. If so..make it something very simple. Perhaps some candles (I would think beeswax handmade ones would be appropriate) but I don't know as it usually is not customary to buy the people you are doing labor for a gift. That's almost like my gardener buying me a gift.

in the adventure that they invited you and recognize your mothers and fathers then they recognize you're outsiders. they're going to recognize you do not stay like them and could no longer assume you to fake some thing for them. merely be your self and luxuriate in.
