Depends on the system he has. XBOX and the PS2 have little games that are friendly to 8 years old. The Gamecube has a lot, and in the case that he has any of the next generation systems, the good luck with the PS3 and 360. I suggest Mario games for the Gamecube. There is also Sonic for all systems. The one I recommend (Which a lot of people are into, but I could never get into it myself) is Lego Starwars, the new one or the old one. You choose. If he has the Gameboy or DS then once again, Sonic, or Mario for the Gameboy. The DS I suggest something like Mario Kart DS, Sonic Rush, or Animal Crossing.

Quit cold turkey. Block the games on FB and delete all that you have saved on the other games. I know this sounds harsh, but games do not bring you anything other then heartache and failure. I stopped paying a game online (got myself banned on purpose after half a year). On the game I had a lot of this and that and good standing. Now that I don't have the game I know I wasted that half a year. I can't brag about what I had on the game and this game did not help me with my college degree. No one will be proud of me cause of the game and I may have actually set myself back because of it. When I played I felt so good, when I got off I felt awful and ashamed of myself. Please please stop playing right now before you really screw up with something important.

First off, eight year olds, shouldn't be playing video games. They should be doing more constructive things, like learning math!!Second off, ... um. That's all.

Sonic is a good choice. If he has Nintendo go with Mario.
