For a long time, most surgical outfits have been green instead of white for a very simple reason.........
Blood on a white uniform shows up RED.
Blood on a green uniform shows up BROWN
Brown spots on the uniform don't frighten people as much as bright red spots.

Green is supposed to be calming, but I think the main reason is to help doctors tell the difference between their surgical scrubs and their regular scrubs, so they don't go into an operating room in clothes that are unsterile..

Green has the longest wavelength and is the most soothing. White can be blinding.

Kickstand is correct. The reason is because blood looks less gruesome against green.
