Complicated question. I'll tell you what I do online as an example.
I resell web hosting and domains on the internet. It's a very competitive market, but easy to promote. I currently make enough to support myself, wife and son comfortably.
Like anything else worthwhile though it takes time and a lot of work. You have to promote your business and keep at it.
Here's the link for the reseller program

And here's a link about web site promotion

Don't expect immediate amazing results with any business you may start. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Web hosting and domain sales is as basic as you can get on the net and a great place to start. Good luck!

If you want to start a business, first you need to know what are your strenghts and where your passion resides. In short, what are you good at and what do you love doing. Then, you should channel those things into a viable, profitable business idea.
I used to want to start a business too, because I thought that was the only way to go if I didn't want to work for someone else. Then one day someone approached me about a business opportunity. I was sckeptical; I didn't believe in it. But I did it anyway. Why? Because I wanted money. I also wanted to show support for that person. If anything, I would have lost a few hundred dollars and not the several thousands that a regular business requires. Today, after just a few months in the business, I have the evidence to substantiate what I say. I am successful and I am only in my early 20's. Would you rather open up your own business and deal with the stress of overhead expenses, risk between $20,000.00 to $300,000.00, employee troubles, taxes, lawsuits, you name it. Even if I wanted to risk that kind of money; I wouldn't have it. That's why I am telling you this. The business opportunity I am doing is for people just like us, who want a way out, who are willing to work hard (not for others, but for ourselves), who do not have tons of money to "invest". Do some research and it will reveal that 95% of initial businesses fail for many, many different reasons. If you are serious about making money with some level of certainty, then you should check out http://www.americhoice.unfranchise.com click on the "about ma" tab and click on the presentation link. If you want more info, you can contact them at americhoice@unfranchise.com By doing this business you will only need to work a few years instead of the 45 years that are required for you to retire if you do anything else. Don't believe me? Why don't you take a look at it and THEN, tell me that I am wrong. The only person standing in the way of your own success is you. You can never say that you were not given a chance. Hope this helps and God bless.
