my best friends girlfriend just broke up with him and hes really depressed... i want to make him feel better but i dont know how. what should i do because i hate seeing him like this?

Just being his friend will be a great help. Spend some time with him and let him know that the pain will pass with time.
If she broke off the relationship, we know it is for the best, but it will take time for him to see that. We have all been through this at least once and though the world seems to be ending, it gets better rather quickly.

Sorry to hear about that. You could offer him a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen. Maybe you could offer to hang out with him so that he isn't by himself especially if you think he is really depressed. Try to offer him comfort by letting him know that you are there for him as a friend. You could also offer to help him seek counseling to try to deal with his emotions if you feel that he is not responding to your efforts and is still feeling down.
I find that keeping busy will help keep your mind onto something else for a short time, but being with and around other people with positive influence can help ease the pain a little. Hope this helps!

take him out for a dinner/party/movie
just try and make sure he's not alone most of the time. because depression and loneliness dont really blend well together.
