I just got a tracfone and it's a prepaid thing. It's the little blue nokia one. I got it from someone because it wasnt being used and I need to call my mom for emergencies. Someone said that everytime you by new minutes for the phone the number changes, is that true? and can you tell me anything you know about them?

I've had a tracfone for 2 years and kept the same number. If you don't recharge the minutes (that is, buy new minutes) before the time runs out on the old one, then you lose the number but adding minutes does not make any change in your number. Keep track of the expiration date on the screen and be SURE to buy new minutes before the old one runs out (unless you're going to toss the phone). If the time runs out, you not only lose all the minutes you have, but you have to go through the activation process again, and that is a MAJOR pain! You have to keep entering 30-digit numbers with no way of correcting any mistakes you make; it's awful! Once you get them activated, tracfones work very well, and if you're a person who uses the phone only once in a while, it's a lot cheaper than a regular cell phone.

The number of the pin changes everytime that you put the pin in.
The actual cell phone number doesn't change.
