I went to change the upper front bushing, the job looks like any other bushing job. I found a warning sticker not to remove the upper shock assembly (SEE MANUAL), I can't find anything about this in the manual, and I don't understand why it would be different from any other job, I don't think it's a "self-leveling" suspension system. Any help ? Thanks !

You didn't state what kind of Jag you have so I looked at all the 1991's we have information on. Most say that when replacing one strut you need to do both (common sense for mechanics)
There was no information on replacing any parts like bushings.
If you are so lucky as to have a XJ-S then here you go:
Remove air cleaner to gain access to top shock absorber mount.
Remove thread protecting cap, locknut, outer washer, rubber buffer and inner washer from upper shock absorber mount.
Raise and support front of vehicle.
Remove self locking nut and bolt from lower mount.
Compress shock and remove from vehicle.
Reverse procedure to install. Tighten to specifications.
