I know nothing of the case you mentioned in particular. That is to say I fail to pay much attention to the propaganda machine others justify by tuning into - the media. So I can only speak to this Morales case in generalities.
That being said, I wholly support the death penalty, or capital punishment if you will in cases such as this. America, in particular, is getting much too soft on crime as perpetuated by Demonrats.
To deter capital crimes, such as murder, the death penatly and public executions should be staged. If potential criminals, which we all are, were to see the public execution of murderers and such on a regular basis this would have an effect towards greatly deterring these crimes and crime in general.
If you're soft on crime, as the Demonrats are, this only promotes criminal activity. So voting Democrat is part of the problem. However, we'll have to address the psychological problems of America in a later venue and stick to the generalities of murderers and the death penalty.
I personally would like to see not only public executions but public purification ceremonies. If you've seen Mel Gibson in Braveheart you have a clue as to what I'm talking about. Put a clergyman up on the stage and give the sinner a chance to repent before death. Make it slow, get personal and create some pain. Allow the criminal plenty of opportunity to scream and repent.
When millions of Americans are allowed to see this tough on crime approach, both in person and through the media, criminals will begin to give serious thought to the consequences of their actions. We can either do this or spare the rod, spoil the child and suffer the consequences.
However you feel about the death penalty weigh this in your mind. If it makes sense copy it and send it to everyone you know. And send it to your elected officials to let them know how you stand. Let's take back America from the liberals who would rather let convicted criminals roam your neighborhood at night.

The only two choices for rapists/murderers is to be executed or to be in prison for the rest of their lives. Both are very simple to do but each case warrants careful consideration before the sentence is imposed. The big problem in the criminal justice system these days is that there are too many egotistical and ambitious prosecuting attorneys who care only about getting a conviction no matter the truth. This is NOT an indictment of all of them but a lot do not actually follow the law. If you sit back and look at it, there would be a whole lot less crime if trials were conducted correctly and fairly AND, upon being sentenced to death, executions taking place in a timely manner...not 20 years later. There is so much more to this subject but I will digress for now. I would recommend reading up about it as well as praying for the right solutions.

Why is it that people worry about the well being of people guilty
of crimes which are punishable by death.
I have an idea. When it is proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that
a person is guilty of a crime where death is the punishment,
a member of the family of the victim gets to do the execution in
exactly the same way as the victim was killed.
Now that could actually be a deterrent.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.
Thank you very much, while you're up!!!!

Actually, Robert, there was. It was called a guilty verdict.
Victims rights advocates are always quick to point this out, to compare the suffering of the victim to the convicted. What is this, a race to the bottom to see who can make the other suffer more? And as far as your quesstion, yes there is a more "humane" alternative for executions; it's called life in prison without the possibility of parole. It's just, it offers little possibility of escape or pardon (despite what you hear from the demagogues), and it ensures they will not harm society again.

the state of California and Florida just declared a moratorium on lethal injection as execution, mainly because bleeding heart liberals say that lethal injection is "cruel and inhumane." Until people raise as much noise about killing killers as the liberals do, the states will continue to listen to them. Personally, I'd hack them to pieces and let it go at that. Guess it's a good thing no one asked me to be an executioner.

There are many aspects to this question but the main point should be that we will never advance as a civilized society so long as we execute people for crimes in this country. There are multiple instances of innocent people on death row(s) in this country. Executing even one innocent person means that the system is an utter failure.
We need to convict those guilty of heinous crimes such as this and incarcerate them at hard labor for life. Why is it that in a so-called Christian country that we ignore one of the most basic tenets of that faith?

Of course there are humane ways to carry out executions.
I am surprised they havent implemented them yet.
I see this as a temporary setback to the death penalty. The American public is not ready to abolish it yet, I think.
Statistics show it would be far far cheaper to keep a killer in prison for the rest of his or her life than to go through the death penalty process.
If we cant get past this hurdle, maybe Life Without Parole (LWOP) should be enacted in every state, and used as an alternative (not a replacement) for the death penalty.

This is all thanks to the ACLU. We certainly don't want to put a human vermin to sleep over his rape/murder of a girl, since he has human value. I disagree.
What was cruel and inhuman was what he did to the girl. To even debate the issue shows a total lack of moral center by the legislature of California. No surprise really.

I learn this two times. The means you layer longer tale-comparable prose is admirable, and whatever I have so much problem with. You make it look convenient, average, however all people who write recognize the reverse is correct. I most likely degree the effectiveness of a work via the quantity of TD's........Jealousy rears it is inexperienced head. Kudos to you, Mr Carney.

Humane alternative- Noose thrown over a sturdy tree branch, convicted killer/rapist sitting on horse with noose around neck, gun shot to scare horse to run off, noose tightens as killer/rapist hangs until officially dead. Cheap and effective.haha
