Your statement will be contrary to the facts. In the first place people, who didnot have money at all , started work hard and earn money. They all know the path travelled.
Many if not all of them, who earned money , spent a great part in helping the society, the community and the country. It is because of their generosity that the world is better off. The latest to join that illutrious group is Bill and Melinda gates. Warren Buffet who are spending what the society has given them.
It is the people , like you and me, who think that these people have to do more than what they do. We do precious little citing that we are not earning as much as them. But whatever we earn we could put aside 10% to the society. Insiead we sit in judgement of the others.
You try yourself tomorrow. Announce that you are going to do a charity of $100000. There will be so many people on you. So much demand will be made on you. But you can satisfy only a few . all the rest will call you "mean" . would that be justified?

Well said YD... I am guessing you read the yahoo artical on most charitable millionairs/billionairs.
You can't judge a man's/woman's generousity based on if they are rich or not... There are good apples, bad applels in every group. But I have noticed that PRETTY MUCH every rich person helps out with a few things. You may not be aware of these charitable contributions, because you don't have an interest in whether the said charity does well or not.
I am not a rich person, but I try to donate when possible. If everyone would do this from time to time, we could make vast leaps and bounds in our society.

Because, money really can not buy happiness. One must find happiness within ones self.
Now I am not saying that money can't be fun or that not having money will be fun, but if someone can not find contentment with what they brought with them then they probably will not find it here. So they walk around felling little/big because of things outside of themselves and treating others badly is one way they have to make themselves feel better, if only for a moment.
So the next time you see someone doing this don't think badly of them, they do not deserve our anger but rather our pity for they will never truly find happiness.

If you think that money effects whether people are mean or not it seems that you are measuring them by a double standard and have a bias against those with more money than you have.
You are also providing yourself with an excuse to fail to better yourself financially, as you can always say that you prefer to not be mean.
Also, what is mean to one person might be very different to another. Do you mean "mean" in the sense of demanding quality from others, or do you mean "mean" in the sense of suffering an imagined injury? It is not very clear what you mean, or whether the "meanness".is imposed or inferred, real or imagined.

that's a good quistion.
there lives is not perfect as you think, if someone has something he is absolutely missing something else. you could be rich but sick, lonely or wanting more money..(no body has a perfect life exept the people who knows how to enjoy what they have) e.g. i'm not rich & i don't want to be & i'll refuse any one rich to be my future husband
& why they are mean,,,will not all, but in general who behaves that way has a psycological issue, proving theirselves for example..desiring for contol & feeling stronger..etc
but never care, they are also dying for more money & there lives usually limited by thinking about it...
BUT NOT ALL cuz you can NEVER judge a big group of people because of the bahaviors of a few
best wishes

I think that you're wrong. Everyone has problems and I think money just makes you have different problems. I also don't think that having money does much more than allow you to purchase things. The things you purchase don't in themselves make one happy.
If you have money and buy a Porsche, the next day you see someone with a Ferrari, and then you want that...where does it end?

People who have no money can be mean too.
In fact, just today as I was coming home on the train I saw a man beat the living beegeezer out of his poor child before the train attendants rushed in, and he was certainly of the... non-affluent persuasion, if you know what I mean.
A person is a person, not defined by their checking account.

When people have everything handed to them they have no need for want, only longing, and they become spoiled.
Those who fight to get it then become jerks after they get to the top forget what they were getting there for.
A strong person, would be someone who could get to the top and not forget where he came from, how he got there and what he was going there for.

I think that some people who are well off are mean because they feel they are entitled to special treatment and want the best their money can buy.
Some people who are well off aren't mean, but most of them are and they're weird.
