If you are traveling to the yucatan peninsula, you are in for some wonderful sight seeing. If you like historic landmarks you can visit the mayan ruins in chichen itza and tulum. The sights are breath-taking and usually a perfect spot for souvenir shopping. You can find genuine mexican pottery and items for half the price. However, you need to use your bagainning skills. There is also a beautiful beach in tulum which is a sight to see and enjoy. However, traveling in a car would be a much better option because tours tend to rush you in and out. You can also visit Xelha which is a natural theme park. There is much to do for the whole family. You can snorkle, go bike riding, swimming below underground caves or simply sit and enjoy the sun. There are a variety of restaurants to eat at. If you want to get some beach exposure, you can travel toward cancun and there are numerous beaches, restaurants and shopping.

Well, I could help you more if I knew exactly where you are staying, but here goes. I strongly suggest a day trip to Isla Mujures......very laid back atmosphere....shopping, beach, good places to eat.....many things for the entire family. The mayan ruins is another good day trip. I like going downtown to Tulum Street for shopping and eating around dark. It is beautiful to see at night. Margaritaville is a fun place for a family to go eat and enjoy some fun games......like around dinner time. I go there every night....they also have a kid party....I think it is still from 4-7 on Thursday. Can't go wrong there at any time. If it is pre-teen, might be a bit old for the kid party, but dinner time is great. Good singing, dancing and games until 10:00 when the big party gets going. There is swimming with the dolphins......I like the jungle tour (good for pre-teens). There is just about anything for any age to do in Cancun. Check with the hotel front desk and they will direct you to a tour guide that will give you all your options. They offer discount rates on many packages. I definitely would do the jungle tour and Isla Mujures. Have fun...........it is a great place!!!!!!!
