There was a little girl who lived near the woods and every day she would go into the woods to play. She always bumped into a woodcutter, whom she resented because he was always so wise. One day she thought of an idea to outsmart the woodcutter.
She caught a butterfly and went out in search of the woodcutter. She would ask him if the butterfly was dead or alive, and depending on his answer she would either release the butterfly to fly away or squash it in her hands.
"Mr Woodcutter", she called - "I have in my hands a butterfly, is it dead or is it alive?"
The woodcutter pondered this for a moment and replied: "Little girl..... The answer, lies in your hands!"
