The proper way to moniter your period would be to start marking on a calender the first day of your period. after a few months, you can look back and count the number of days between the first day of your period one month and the first day of your period the next month. many women find that the first day of their period is always exactly 28 days apart.

The cycle of the moon is also 28 days long, which is why so many ancient cultures connected the moon with female fertility.

but don't worry, although some people are as regular as clocks from month to month, a lot of women find their cycles to last anywhere from 3 to six weeks long. It can be nice to be able to predict when your period is though, just so you know when to bring along 'extra supplies.'

If your period usually comes very regularly (for example every 32 days) and then suddenly that pattern changes, you should see your doctor to make sure that there isn't anything else going on (ovarian cysts, pregnancy... a lot of factors can affect your period's cycle). but i wouldn't worry about a varience of just a few days.

You don't have to count the days of your period. Some people do count, I know my cycle and when to expect mine but that's only because I need to know for medical purposes. Most people just have an idea of when to expect their next period and wouldn't notice if they were one day late or early. A day early isn't anything to worry about anyway.

we are all different and so are our cycles some women have a 28 day cycle or even a 45 day cycle which means days in between your next period.

you will get to know after a while how many days between each period, some people can even predict the time they are going to turn.

this prevents the worrying, "did i leave a red dot on the seat" -

you will get to know your routine (if you have one)

your period is a 28 - 31 day cycle....first day of your period you count as day one then when you get it again it should be day 28 or 29 or 30 when ever it arrives you count it as day one again....ie if you start on 1st jan and you have a 28 day cycle they you are due on 28th jan etc etc.mine is a 29day cycle so day one on 1st jan i would then be due 29th jan......hope this helps.....
