I hope to increase my search hit to my website. I paid Google for advertisements based on the number of clicks. As my biz is tiny, I really couldnt afford the monthly bills. I am wondering if there is anything I could do to improve my chances of my site being searched by Yahoo or google... I'll appreciate your help...

Web 'spiders' crawl through websites, searching through webpages. They download the content of each webpage into their server and cache it. For every hyperlink on a webpage, they spider goes to it and downloads the content onto their servers too. And same for the hyperlinks on those webpages. Google calculates the ranking in which links are displayed mainly through the 'pagerank' algorithm, which is highly related to the amount and quality of other webpages who have a hyperlink to your website.
