Hi all, i am writing a letter to a friend and i want to use proper english so can u help?
i want to say:

Dear Samantha,

Hi, how are you? As u asked me to do in your previous letter, I am writing to inform you about text messaging hopefully it can help you understanding what you want to know.

i feel like it is not the right way for writing this sentence! Can u give me the right way plz. I feel like it is not the right sentence structure!
plz help it is really urgent

One hint on proper English: don't use chatspeak!
