I LOVE when I'm dreaming and I realize it! You can do what you want at that point. This is called lucid dreaming. It's so much fun I'm always disappointed when I wake up. One of my favorite things to do in a lucid dream is to fly. It's like being superman! :-)

You would know because you could interact in your dream, make yourself do certain things, basically be the boss of the dream, all the while knowing that you are just dreaming. That would fall under Lucid Dreaming though. You might do a search on the topic.
