I used to ask this until I saw on the computer of a friend that the spell check option was not offered. I am using that computer now - so I canot check this answer. I do not know why this should be so, but it may have something to do with hidden browser settings. I would be most interested if anyone can cast light on this.

I do but the spell checker is rubbish, also there is no grammar check. I am dyslexic and get letters mixed up sometimes, so when I post answers and questions with mistakes that the spell checker didn't pick up I get loads of abuse from people who think they are the queen of England saying 'learn to spell'. Now, I am not a violent person but in these people's cases I could quite happily make an acception and spark them all out with my fist of fury!!!
I mean get over it people!! yes it might make you work a bit harder to understand but so what? sometimes the mistakes are so minor but everyone gets on their high horse about it with their 'holier than though' attitudes. I bloody try to spell correctly but you know what? I am not perfect and neither are all of you! it's like none of you have ever made a damn mistake in your entire lives. Oh well, shove it.

One shouldn't need a spellchecker, Harry potter doesn't use one.

Seriously, can someone start a second tier for Answers, where people who can spell and write in English may voice their opinions?
This sounds SO patronising.

Certainly it is very frustrating when Yahoo offers a spell checker. However, it is no more frustrating than those who ask question in the wrong category.
