A good way to do it is to find a leisure activity t take your mind off what had made you mad. Some people go the the gym and punch a bag, some scream at the top of their lungs, It is different for different people. Just don't do anything to hurt yourself or hurt any innocenet bystanders.

venting anger is not necessary.....
There was a whole lot of hooha in psychological circles in particular pop-psychology about the need to vent anger..about 20 years ago.... it is simply not true...
It is necessary to ackowledge the anger but you dont have to vent it. What you can do is use the energy that arises from anger and harness it to achieve things you need to do....
pillow thumping, stamping your feet etc is all a waste of useful energy. Find a more productive use for the energy.
For many years I thought it essential to vent anger...(because I was told so)... but have learnt in recent times that to sit with the feeling and acknowledge it and then accept that I feel angry is all that is necessary..
If I feel a build up of energy I use it in a productive way.. clean a room, rake the yard... whatever... but I dont waste that energy in useless activities..like pillow thumping..

When you are mad, you must keep cool or you may do something silly. Take in a deep breath and try to relax. If that does not help, go out for a stroll and some fresh air. That will surely bring you back to earth.

well what i ususally do is just think that the person isn't there anymore. i don't mean dead i just mean somewhere else. like in Canada. after u do that u have to tap ur head three times and spin around in a circle. after u do that sit on ur bed and scream into ur pillow as loud as u can that gets all the anger out. well if u think that my advice is good than use it if u don't well u don't have to use is. well i hope it werks for u.

Of course, stay away from the person as much as possible. We all have the capabilities of hurting someone badly, if we are not careful of how we handle ourselves WHETHER we realize it or not. There is such a thing as "he/she snapped".
The best thing is to take a walk (if possible), buy yourself something you have always wanted, read the Bible, or listen to your favorite gospel music.

I always write in my diary...always, all feelings and everything like that. Also, talking to my dad since we are really close.
