He's a very accomplished actor, which means that he's good at pretending to be someone he's not. I don't think it's a good idea to take political advice from actors. It's not really their field, and they're really no smarter than anyone else.

I'm amazed by the replies here you people are so stuck in a rut and you think you are free - try opening your minds for once.
Clooney is using his celebrity from making a load of entertaining but for the most part pretty meaningless films to actually make a difference in the World and do some good.
What could possibly be bad about that?
What is going on in Darfur is terrible far worse than anything happening in the middle east. Of course there's no oil there so why should Americans care? At least Clooney is showing the World that there are some good Americans left.

Clooney is right about Dharfur, but not because he is actually that smart. He sees the crime that is the genocide of the people there, but he and his kind did not care about genocide in Iraq. Why? Because of politics. If Bush had sent troops to Dharful before Iraq, he would be railing against America for that conflict.
Clooney is also pretty full of himself, thinking he is some sort of Liberal Hollywood version of mother Teresa.
When Clooney was attending events to help the American red cross attain aid for the victims of 9/11, he couldn't care less that the red cross was thinking about keeping most of the money for "other things" such as administrative costs.
In the end, it is less about helping others, but rather what makes Clooney look good.

I think that ( Wise) Conservatives who make them selves look
better to the ( Rich) (Educated) people like your self have done enough and turned the world to a living hell and made enough religious wars and hatred and made troubles in stupid wars that
caused troubles for America and the resat of the whole world.
may be some dumb liberals like George clooney have the right to make their trials to fix all this $hit out.
you can call it necessary evil of democracy but let the dumb poor uneducated people take some actions.

He is a fair actor, and needs to stop being all about himself. But, then I have yet to see anyone in Hollywood in the last 30 years that became a star and all of a sudden they think they are smarter than most people. Yep, takes real brains to read a q card.

George Clooney isn't a fairly good actor, but not a great one. He is very good looking, so most people ignore his inability to act well (Although Oceans 11 is a great movie).
Like many people, he equates money with success and ability. The more money you have, the better you are and the more you must know.
As an American, he is entitled to his opinion. And as an American, I am entitled to think his opinion is worthless.

He is a typical Hollywood hypocrite. He voices his disdain over America's interference in global affairs, yet in the next breath condemns the US government for not getting involved in Darfur. Way can't he (and others) not see the people of Darfur need a military resolution? They need protection. Giving someone a sandwich means nothing when they are watching their family getting hacked apart with machettes.

I think he is a lot smarter than you because he has a multi-million dollar career, house... and he has a wicked sense of humor. BTW: want to see how "dumb" this Democrat is? Read the books on my favorite website, link provided below. Your statement is ignorant, and also btw: I'm a moderate and do NOT follow all of the party's positions - on some issues I side with the conservatives. In other words, I make up my own mind.

Like most Hollywood Loudmouths, he considers us working people ignorant trash.
Streisand is a strong environmentalist. She cares. She also spent $22,000 on just watering her yard last year.
They do fool the ignorant and gullible, just like the Democrats did last election.
(Clooney "turns on" liberal males.)

Great actor, but I still fail to understand why people take anything more seriously coming from an entertainer than any other American.
