It should be 50-50. If you both work. The one that don't work should do 90% and the one that works 10%.

There are no such things as man and women chores. If the garbage smells and needs to be taken out are you going to let it stink up the house until he gets home because that is one of his chores? Don't start spliting responsibilities. I would expect him to do laundry as well as you mopping the kitchen floor. I don't wash my truck because I know my husband aslways does it. But I will get up early sometimes and take my truck to the automatic car wash down the street from our house and then I will come back and get his car and have it done. It's called give and take.

Man- trash, mow the yard, fix everything, load the dishwasher

Woman-vacuum, dust, unload the dishwasher, cook

Apparently I don't do a lot of things I'm supposed to do.

If you guys want to split up chores, then pick your chores. Otherwise:

What we do is whoever is home does whatever needs doing. (We work opposite shifts).

honestly, no one should have select chores in the house. if it doesn't look clean, clean it. if it smells, take it out. don't leave it for someone else to pick up after it. if you see it, you clean it. i usually follow the rules of: if you made a mess, YOU clean it up. it usually works that way. each is responsible for cleaning up after themselves.
