I am 15 weeks. Last night I couldnt sleep because my mouth was so dry and I constantly needed a drink. What causes it?

definitely
i used to drink water like crazy in my first three mths and i'd wake up at night to fetch a glass of water several times, where in normal conditions i just live on couple of glasses a day.

You are opening your mouth once your asleep! You should try those "nasal strips", this has absolutely nothing to do with your pregnancy. You are probably getting a cold, if not, your environment is too hot! Plug the bathtub,kitchen sink at night before you go to bed and leave water in them. This will put moisture into your environment and may relieve the "dry mouth". Also, buy a big bag of the hard,white peppermints. They are not only good to eat, but beneficial for you also. Peppermint is a natural cleansing for the mouth,throat and oesophagus. Good Luck with your pregnancy, and don't panic over every little thing, you will "stress" out your baby. Remember, the child You are Creating inside you, is You, so be good to yourself, and you will have a nice and happy little one. Merry Christmas.

you could just have been dehydrated

but gestational diabetes can cause thirst, so it's worth mentioning to your midwife or doctor
