Yeah, but the funny thing is I find it unreliable. When I see someone first time and get the feeling I normally end up having a good relationship with the person. With love at first sight it often doesn't end up that way. I think that with hate at first sight you have set the expectations from that person at less than zero so it easier for them to prove you wrong. With love you have set the expectations at unbelievably high so it is easy for them to let you down.

Abbsolutely.

It stems from past experiences where you knew a person you hated.

This new person may look like the original; or talk in the same way; or do something specific the same way. In any case, it would bring up bad memories of the original person you hate and you automatically hate the new one.

For example; I had a friend who would wear UGGS (UG Shoes) all the time. She irritated me and now anybody I see wearing them pisses me off without even doing anything.

It's just a human reaction...you assume that the two people must be similar if they have similar traits/clothes/anything. So you reject the new person as if they were the original person you hate.

Nobody will admit they do it, but we've all had that happen to us or someone we know. So yes, I believe in hate at first sight.

With me its usually a feeling all is not right with such a person and it eventually evolves into dislike and distrust but not hate since I dont care enough about them to hate them, I just dont want to be friends .....

I have met people whom I instinctively disliked and didn't trust. ("Hate" is a little strong for it...you have to work hard to get me to actually expend the energy required to "hate" you.) I make it a rule to not "act" on my first impression of someone, and give them the chance to show who they really are.

However, as a rule, my first impression is usually the right one.

It's always possible, yes. You may learn to hate something at a glance.
