no it wont work,,,,, unless you get a power converter as the usa's power supply is a different voltage to the uk's!!
not only that, even if you did get a power converter, you would only be able to play american versions of the games, and you would not be able to play any games that are sold in shops here in uk as they are formatted differently,, (us = ntsc,, uk =pal)

I was in the removals game a number of years back, and as far as electrical items go, the immediate problem is that the UK, Europe and America all have differing voltages and plugs. America works on 125V and UK and Europe at 250V. Plug one device manufactured for a lower voltage into the mains in a higher-voltage country without an appropriate adaptor and converter and you'll get a very loud bang and a molten mess. That's not to say it couldn't be done, but the expense would probably make it financially unsound, especially when you consider that a console imported into this country from the USA would also be hit by the customs people at Mount (Un)Pleasant, and I hate to think what the import duty and VAT would be for something like this. I would recommend trying to buy from within Europe first to avoid import duty, as at least then it runs on the same voltage and all you would need is a standard travel adaptor to plug it in, and they only cost a few quid from Boots. Games of course should play on any machine worldwide, no matter where purchased.

I think the best thing to do is to sell the Wii to someone in the UK instead of spending more money on getting Converters, etc. Then when you get the money off of that just go to USA and buy a new Wii and avoid the hassel and save some money.

You would need a step-down power convertor. Or when you plug it in there would be a loud bang. This is because here in the UK is voltage is 240v where the US is 110v
Also you need a NTSC to PAL video signal convertor. I bougt one for £8 for the PS3 yesterday. They normally require a 60Hz TV

Yes, it will work in the UK as long as you have a reasonably new TV and the power converter.
You can pick one of these up quite cheaply at Maplin stores. Here's a link to the converter they sell from their online shop:

Enjoy!

yes but it would have a USA plug on it, so you would nead a converter. Look on Ebay there are lots of US sellers selling to UK buyers and some of the listings will explain better.
