It seems that Michael Jackson was highley respected as a child star in the Jackson 5 and slowly became more and more socially unacceptable over time. What year do you think was the last year he was still looked up to by everyone?

I think it was 1991, when "Black or White" came out. After that, he just became stranger and stranger (the marriages, the children he "supposedly has", etc.) It's a shame because he's so talented, but misguided and he should stay away from little boys!

Wacko Jacko. He was really good with the Jackson 5, along with a few of his solo albums. The moment he bleached his skin, lopped off his nose, tattooed his eyes, reddened his lips in a sickly parody of Snow White - he creeped me out. That, and his obsessive interest in kids. But, hey, money can buy good defence lawyers.

The year he went overboard with bleaching his skin and getting the nose jobs - the press/media went wild competing with one another to print the most bizarre articles they could think of, not to mention the 1st court battle accusations of child molesting.

Michael Jackson is still the coolest man on the planet!! But he became less popular as soon as the filthy press started making up lies about him and gullible people actually believed it!!

As far as I'm concerned he's never been cool.
He got worse when he started denying having surgery etc, despite everyone being able to see his nose falling off.
The kiddie stuff just added to that

by everyone? that's a long time ago, before the thrilla album when he began to look really really strange. i think he really started going steeply downhill after 1993

Anything after Thriller - after that it was monkeys, little boys, and Liz Taylor. Beofre that, he was great.
