Laughter is best when it is shared!!!
Laughter is a part of human behaviour regulated by the brain. It helps humans clarify their intentions in social interaction and provides an emotional context to our conversations. Laughter is used as a signal for being part of a group — it signals acceptance and positive interactions. Laughter is sometimes seemingly contagious and the laughter of one person can itself provoke laughter from others. This may account in part for the popularity of laugh tracks in situation comedy television shows.
The study of humor and laughter, and its psychological and physiological effects on the human body is called gelotology.

heres a shot in the dark
*you expect something different from the movie while with other people, nothing unexpected is supposed to happen because youre in the safety of the herd
*your mind is focused on the other people so you are not analyzing the movie as much as you should and the results of the movie come as more of a surprise.
*you laugh to be disarming to other people.
dude you gotta reply to this because i wanna see if any of these remotely hit the mark.

That is a puzzle, isn't it. It's the same with most people. When something is so uproarously funny that I do laugh aloud, my dog looks at me like I'm crazy. A similar thing happens when I'm browsing through funny greeting cards. Occasionally I'll hit on one that will just crack me up. If someone else is nearby, they usually give a little smile.
Anyway, it doesn't matter, you're probably laughing on the inside.
