i mean when do the males of the species acquire the ability to procreate? What is the sign (note that it is Menstruation for the females, usually at the age of 11-14)?

It varies greatly with males,mostly due to the production of testosterone that is triggered by one of brain based glands,I would have to look up which one though.There are visual and non visual indicators ie; puppy love,spending time alone ex: long showers etc.The rest is rather obvious; facial hair,etc...

Male finds out if they're reaching puberty through different types of changes...the most obvious is the deepening of our voice through our vocal cords.. It's the most visible for most of us. Secondly and probably the most hard to admit by most guys is the issue of masturbation..Any normal male will experienced it for the first time either intentionally or unintentionally through our dreams (Wet dreams). We do not produce sperm until we reach a certain age and I believe it would be the same age pattern as women. So when our sperm sacks gets full...automatically there would an urge to relieve it. For male, I think it's more biological and instinctive.
