how do I write this particular check??

I want to give a personel check for someone to get eyeglasses (he really needs it) and I don't want to give him cash because he will spend it on something else. How do I write the check so that the eyeglasses store and his name can be on the check and he can use the check without me being there?

Make the check out to the store and call them personally to coordinate everything.

Write it to BOTH names e.g.:

"Lenscrafter's" AND John Smith
