How long does it take to fully charge?

i worked for Verizon wireless for about 2 years and we were told to tell customers to let it charge for around 3-4 hours. we were told that its supposed to be fully charged because it has some sort of memory. so that if u charge it only 3/4 of the way its going to think that is fully charged so u wont get the full use of the battery.
i dont know that any of that is true, but that is what we were told to tell customers

I don't know why, but I do know that if you do not fully charge it, you will not maximize the life of your battery.

Mine only takes about 2 hours.
