Any true American, believing in the principles of freedom and democratic government by and for the people, could not help but be glad.

The problem about the war in Iraq is the surrounding Countries not wanting Iraq to have such freedom. Add to that the fact that they have vowed to wipe the U.S. off the map, then you have what you see there now.

Most Americans don't like to see a Country that is having it's people slaughtered every day, or out troops killed and injured. But if we don't stay there until the Iraqi people are able to stand up for their Country on their own, the people won't survive the onslaught of the Iranians and Syrians.

A lot of the problem lies with the Media coverage of what's happening...they only show the violence. A few reports will admit that the violence we see and hear about daily is mostly confined to parts of certain cities. Freedom of the press is good when the reporting is done "across the board," but biased, selective reporting us malicious and turning people away from the truth.

Thank you for the question. I hope more people will respond with their minds and eyes open to more than the few parrots repeating the bad news only.

Hooray for Americans willing to go there to help others be free. This Country is especially blessed in the doing.

Is that figure from a poll? If so, then not everyone was asked-most likely only a 1000 folks were asked. That is Not a total view from ALL Americans.
I was not asked nor any of my friends.
I don't like seeing any people under a terrorist rule and to liberate them from it should be done in the right way and for the right reasons if they want it.
