Hi., you can go to www.winzip.com and download winzip installer.. after it you need to install it... after you need to move the files to a folder... right click the folder and add to winzip.... their you got a zip file...

after loadin the winzip frm www.winzip.com rite click on ur file nd then create a zip folder by rite clikin in a window goin to new>>compressed folder/zip folder and move ur file inside the zip folder u just created.

its easy if you have win zip, else download win zip from net , its easily available and the just right click on the mouse and you will see a option add to zip , click on to it and give the location of the file which u want to zip and rest is done by the software itself

Do you want to write a programme?
Read Shano-Fano or Huffman encoding technics. If it it is text file reading the file then apply encoding and save it. Do'nt forget include decoder with that

just right click on file & select Compress to or zip to depands on your software) follow the instruction thats it
