To the moaners out there...I already have my own definiton, but everyone explains their own things in their own way. Just trying to tidy things up. Now go back to bed and get up out of the right side this time...oh and have a merry Christmas!

Molecular epidemiology has recently been defined as "a science that focuses on the contribution of potential genetic and environmental risk factors, identified at the molecular level, to the etiology, distribution and prevention of disease within families and across populations". This new field has recently emerged from the integration of molecular biology into traditional epidemiologic research.

epidiemiology is the study of who is affected by an illness 'epidemeo' refers to epidemic, so it if an illness only affects males or people with a certain genetic make up.

I would assume that molecular epidemeology is the study of which groups of molecules are afected.
