I celebrate christmas, but for me it's not about the religion side of it. Technically the date of christmas, december 25, is actually a pagan festival and nothing to do with christianity at all.
For me it's about everyone putting their differences aside for one day and just enjoying each others company, for getting in touch with old friends, and for forgetting about all the bad stuff that's happened over the year just for one day.

Why not? Its become an essentially secular holiday over the last decades... overly commercialized, and with little relation to any of its roots (Pagan and Christian).
And it certainly has enough scientific precedent, as it was originally a celebration of the Winter Solstice - which is not going away... its simply an annual solar event.

anyone can celebrate 'Christmas' and leave out the religion. I have friends who are atheist and they call it Xmas or their winter party. For them, it's all about Santa Claus, presents, food, parties, and etc...nothing to do with Jesus.

Yes we do! We just dont go to church or stuff like that. Some of us do it just so that we can spend time with our familys. Atheists are people to.
