The old man that lived next door to me for most of my life was a Scrooge. He lived alone, never married, he had the same dirty yellow curtains on his windows his whole life. There was no furniture in the house. This man was a teacher, so he wasn't that poor. Sad thing is, when he died, he left everything to his vulture relatives and they came up and stripped the house clean and sold it, including his car. He forgot to have fun in life, which is the message of Charles Dickens' story.

My friend is a scrooge. Each time he sees a picture of Santa Claus he draws a Hanes or Fruit of the Loom brief on it. Santa Claus really does wear Hanes and Fruit of the Loom briefs you know!

Yes my real father. I asked for a kettle for Christmas and he gave me a kettle that we had had in the family for some 15 years - I recognised the dent in the body work.
For wrapping it was a black plastic bin liner done up with garden string.
Another year I asked him for a microwave - he was getting a new one so he gave me his old one - complete with grease splatters.
Bahh Humbug. I do not speak to him anymore. Cannot name him because I do not want him to know where I am.

Surely, Christmas is not about spending money and buying gifts. It's about the birth of Christ and going to church?
That's what some other lost it case has just said on another question.

Me. I ******* hate Christmas. I think it is a load of commercialised rubbish, designed to make people spend more money. And I'm not ashamed of thinking this way!
