you treat yourself good by paying close attention to your needs instead of wants then working towards meeting them .our needs are what is best for us ,so once you cater to them you'll be good to yourself .people will on some level treat you the way you treat yourself ,but its not everyone that will recognize and appreciate these sincere and positive efforts towards yourself .meaning its not everyone who will treat u the way u do urself .so u still have to be on guard ,because some will treat you the way you let them.

Maybe people will treat you as good as you treat them.
It's sometimes something to encourage.
Sometimes, but, we can see through a person by the way he treats himself.
One who mistreats himself won't love anyone else.

Having self-respect and self-confidence. Stand up for yourself. If, for example, you change your mind easily on important matters, don't expect other people to count or rely on you. If you spend your time doing other people's work because you feel useful that way, people will just keep on using you to do things for them, even if they do not consciously want to exploit you. If you look down on others and show negative traits, you''ll cause negative feelings to others. It's that simple. A rule to have in mind is "Don't do to others what you wouldn't like others to do to you", although B.Shaw said that we shouldn't do to others what we would like others to do to us, because not all people like the same things!

Just, you know, take care of yourself. I think that's what the saying is getting at.

That's not necessarily so. But if you treat yourself well, when someone does mistreat you; you don't tolerate it.
