i have ares and i want to make my download faster.how do you actually use an accelerator from ares and any other accelerator i can use besides ares,also how do you know if the accelerator is working thank you i am kinda new at this.

ares is peer to peer networking software.... Unless there are enough source you cannot have a good speed.. Try Downloading the same file from a http or ftp server using Download Accelerator Plus or FlashGET or Internet Download manger

Sorry, you can't actually make your downloads faster by using software. What you're really looking for is a faster internet connection so that you get more bandwidth.
If you've got a 512Kbps line you simply can't download any faster than 512Kbps.
"Accelerators" generally use caching or compression technology to provide a pseudo-speed increase.
In the case of Ares, it tries to find more sources for downloads. This is a special case for P2P where more than 1 source can exist. It won't effect a download from a website, for example.
