I was a nanny of 4 kids and they lived with their mom (their dad left about a year before I met them). The mom really needed help during the Christmas season with food and stuff for the kids. She belongs to a church and people there all know her situation. So, one person in the congregation (usually a rich person since there are so many kids in her family) will get a list of the things they want and need, even what the mom wants and needs, and but it for them, wrap it up, and give it to them! They would deliver it Christmas Eve after the kids were in bed so they wouldn't know about it until the next day. Plus, this past year, a local radio station sponsored them, she got help from her youngest sons social workers (he has autism and is in all kinds of programs), had a tree given to them, and much more. They had the living room packed full of stuff for all of them!
So, I would say to talk to your local church (if you go to one, ask them, if not many churches do have programs for people in the community), go to where they have food banks and ask them about help, talk to a social worker where you get food stamps (if you get them; if not, just go to or call the office and they can lead you in the right direction), ask friends for suggestions, etc. There are so many ways to get help out there. You just have to ask for the help to get it.
Good luck to you and your family. Merry Christmas!

There's an organization called Pride for Parents where people donate gifts, and then low income parents pay a samll, discountedprice for the gifts to give their children. (I guess it's a big deal that the parents are paying for the gift, because it allows them to keep their pride and they are giving a gift that is actually from them.

I would suggest going to like a community service in your area. I know that if you contact your church or one around you, they can direct you to the right resource places.
Good luck and May God bless!

Catholic Charities, DHS or DFCS, Toys for Tots, The Salvation Army... Any church would probably help you if you told them about your situation.

please remember that christmas is not about how many presents u get or how good they r...
it's about family and togetherness...
