well even though he only scored 10 runs that more than some of the higher order batters. He's not bowling that well, but I think the question you should be asking is why was Monty been left out of the first 2 tests? Face it we have lost the Ashes, as our whole batting order seems to collapse everytime we step up to the crease.

Why is it that the supporters of a team look for a scapegoat, when the whole team is not doing well. Yes, Sajid has not been to the mark, but what about other 10. Cricket is a team game and one can not be signalled out for a bad performance.
England are up against Aussies, who is very strong as a team. All members play their part. Batsmen score, bowlers take wickets and fielders grab catches.
Even Andrew Symonds who failed as a batsman, played his part as a bowler and fielder. Thats what is important. All eleven members of the team can not perform, but at least 4-5 should click to make the difference.
Look at England's performance in this 3 tests. Every time one or 2 does well and rest 9-10 fails. If this continues, they will keep loosing the matches.

You can't just blame one player in the team all of them have been under performing.
Take a look down the order; start with strauss... last time be performed with the bat for us?? oh thats right 42... couldnt get any further that was in our first innings, cook?? about 20 is his max...
bell hasnt played to his best, collingwood and peiterson are batting well but sometimes need to look at the situation a little bit more on a whole, flintoff has a hell of a lot of weight on his sholders, he is captain, supposed to be a huge hitting player in the middle of the order and supposed to be one of our best bowlers who the austrailians are scared of, i wouldnt mind facing him at the moment and im playing u18's...
jones shouldnt be in the squad and neither should read... we havent got a decent enough keeper let alone keeper/batsman. hoggard has bowled really well for us but his batting isnt something we should aspire to, however he isnt there to bat so the top order should be doing that for him, harminson has only just started to bowl well, but not well enough, flintoff looks like a drunk wasp bowling and giles shouldnt have been given his place back after how well monty has bowled. monty came in and did the trick on the first morning, however he failed to do the same thing again in the 2nd innnings, he did show some promise with his bat as a no 11!! which has silence some critics since the top order failed to do anything yet him and harmy stuck together to produce the biggest partnership of our innings..

we should not be asking mahmood to bat, we should be asking wot is going wrong at the top of the order, 1 of no's 1-5 should be batting through the whole of the innings, and we certainly shouldnt be saying to ourselves why arnt no's 7-11 not scoring runs!!! they are not ment to be in the team as batsman they are in the team to do another percific job, bowl or keep, not bat, so dont expect them to be scoring runs!!

anderson aint bowled that well, mahmood aint bowled well, flintoff aint bowled well, harmy aint bowled well, gilo aint bowled well!! at the end of the day every member in the team doesnt appear to be doing their job very well, and against supposidly the best team in the world, that isnt going to produce the result all english cricket fans want to be seeing!! mahmood was drafted in to replace aderson as he managed to get some pace in the summer and was revse swinging the ball, this was the key to our last ashes win!! and thats why he was given a chance, some people dont produce the goods first time round, but hopefully if he is kept for the next match, him harmy flintoff and monty and hoggard will hit the button every single ball and stop them scoring runs, once the runs dry up pressure builds then wickets fall. if all of that falls into place the barmy army will be going mental out batsman will come out and show the aussies how to play!! we have people in our sqaud who are capable of scoring hunderds everytime they walk out, but they need support and some luck from the umpires sometimes, and hopefully we can force a draw or a rare win for us from this test!!
