When Im sober people find me funny because Im neurotic, and when intoxicated I try to impress on purpose, know what Im doing. Why. When Sober I completely insecure and some people find my Obsessive Compulsive behavior funny, even though it is a real disease. I remember being 11 and having all my friend wash their hands before playing videogaes, so they would'nt get any oils on the controllers. With my go- kart I would wash it before using it ,even though I'd drive it through people lawns and rip up their grass for fun, then bring it back and wash it again. Also I would wash all our families cars and then put so much armor-all and wax on the car, whenver it was sunny you could barely see the car becausse it was so shiny and people would coment that the inside of the cars was greasy. I did the same with all my toys cleaning until I told myself, "I'm wasting all my time cleaning and washing my things". I would also take 3 showers a day. Now I do not want anyone touching my posesions atal

Even if you wash your hands and wash everything...
dirts are still on them. No matter what. Nothing is 100% clean.
Even soaps got germs.

You don't live in a Bubble.

Why not go camping for a week without soap and water....?

Or throw all the soap away... or get yourself the cutest puppy...

If you really wanna stop this... you can only control your mind...
so you need to find a way to control your mind...
And think to yourself... that dirt is dirt. germ is germ...
Everybody will die from something.... and we can't
be clean all the time....

And plus the water, you don't know where that water been?
That water is not all pure.... it comes from somewhere
unknown through the old rusty pipes underground.

So you might as well just stop washing your hands and stuff.
and just tell yourself, nothing wrong with being dirty...
Dirt and germs won't kill ya.

Just hug somebody... and then you should say, "it isn't so bad"...

The reason why you are the way you are, because you think
you are so perfect and so pure... and you think you're better than everybody... and that you don't want them to TOUCH YOU and Your things...
Hey, nobody wants you.

So you have OCD? Don't drink to make your personality "better" (whatever that means). I used to do that and it wasn't great. You are who you are. I am who I am. Anyone who has a problem with that has a problem. Be yourself. If the OCD starts coming between you and close relationships, go see a doctor. If not, what's the problem. I have a wife and kids, so the only thing I really care about is my ability to make a living. What other people think of me is very secondary (unless if affects my ability to make a living).

You know, when I was young, all I thought about was getting drunk. We didn't think to do anything else. I missed out on a lot of cool stuff that would have sounded stupid to me and my friends at the time.

Don't go to Borders in Cleveland Heights, OH. There is always this guy in there giving everyone "pounds" (like a closed fist handshake) and hugs. You probably wouldn't like him very much.

You sound like the guy from that show with the actor Tony Shaloub, the one with OCD. Can't recall the name. That show is a comic hit, so there, you can see...many people find that sort of think pretty funny.

I think ... to answer your question ... when somewhat SHY people are sober, they are guarded and a little afraid to take the chances that comedy and humor require. Liquor loosens you up and lets down that guard.

What do you think of Febreeze?

Turn your negative into a positive. Use what hinders you as a comedic shtick. Josh Blue did it on the Last Comic Standing and it worked perfectly!

Don't let it get you down. Just evaluate all of your options.

Sounds like your friends are playing on your behavior for their entertainment. Calm down and find some normal house mates to live with and try to emulate in some ways.
