Christmas in Australia is celebrated on the 25th December (same as everywhere else). There are a lot of families who celebrate Christmas with a 'cold' Christmas lunch - prawns, salads, beer, mangoes, cold ham etc. We usually have plenty to drink and swim etc.

There are some people here that celebrate 'Christmas in July'. This really is more of a gimick that anything serious. It is so we can enjoy a traditional christmas dinner in the winter - people generally do not exchange gifts in July or put up a tree or decorations. It is more likely they will invite some friends over and have a cooked turkey with vegies and hot plum pudding.

I really do not think that there are that many people celebrating Christmas in July.

Christmas is on December 25th.
As for Christmas in July, Not everyone does that and I don't really know why. Alot of businesses are extremely busy over the Christmas period so I think alot do Christmas parties in July becasue they have more time to do it.

Christmas continues to be celebrated fervently with pals or kinfolk contributors with the familiar sending/receiving of presents. a private fave is Christmas dinner on the sea coast in this style of a picnic and eats are a large ingredient for me-in this style of seafood, glazed ham, chilly chicken, duck or turkey. and a good number of cakes!!
