There are an estimated 350 different 'Celtic Deities".

I do not have enough space to list them all and the comparisons would take a mountain of data.

Here is the basics however.....
Each tribe had its own name for a certain 'deity' that was related to a specific thing. What is now called the 'Green Man' has been called the 'Horned God', 'Herne the Hunter', and 'Cernunnos' just to name a few.

Powers of these deities varied, but one thing was alike for each and every one of them. They all could and often DID assume human form and walk amongst us. They all had some rather 'human' attributes, and it was not unknown for them to have their own agenda that might not be to the betterment of the tribe.

In the Celtic mindset, this was OK as no Celt would ever assume that anybody was infallible. Even the deities made mistakes from time to time.

The Celts were a lot more wide spread than the Greeks and had, as such a greater variety in the gods they worshiped which varied from area to area, the similarity's between the Celtic and Greek gods stop at them being derived from similar indo-European pantheons

- much like the ancient Indian, Norse, and Germanic pantheons -

The gods share similarities but some powers may be transposed between certain individual deities.

The Romans attempted to draw similarities between their gods (which were drawn almost directly from the Greeks, but renamed) and the Celts/Germanic peoples but often these likenesses were very weak and based more off appearances.

There are way too many of each pantheon to name. Examples of the Celtic gods are Herne, Cernunnos, Dagda, Brigid, Morrigan, Cerridwen, Maeve, and Rhiannon. Examples of Greek Gods are Zeus, Hera, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Eros, and Pan.

The only ones that really compare are Pan and Herne/Cernunnos but barely. Herne/Cernunnos are two names for the two sides of the ancient god of fertility, animals, the hunt and a bringer of death as well a giver of life. Pan is also a god of fertility, but is a goat where Herne is a stag. Pan also has a lower place on the rankings of Greek gods than Herne has on the ranks of the Celtics.

refer to your Shakespeare minor deitys abound and those are the types you find in Celtic legends there were many different types and all had different powers and abilities some were evil some mischievous and some were helpful they ran a ful range and all had human traits the Greeks and later the Romans who copied from them had very basic and 2 dimensional gods each representing a different part of everyday life in that time period
